International Class Teacher (Preschool)

As Class Teacher to:
Maintain a high standard of teaching practice and professionalism.
Create a dynamic classroom where children actively learn both indoors and outdoors.
Respect and value each child’s social, cultural and religious background and by example, provide mutual respect and tolerance.
Share in the management of pastoral care, health, welfare and behaviour of all pupils and in particular, those within your designated class group.
Undertake the teaching, schedule of a class in accordance with the school’s agreed policies and guidelines.
Use a variety of appropriate teaching and caring methods to ensure high quality learning takes place in line with EtonHouse's 'Inquire-Think-Learn' approach and professional practices.
Provide planning documents identifying specific learning objectives, differentiated tasks, additional needs, extension and assessment, to the Principal or designated person.
Maintain professional dialogue with colleagues concerning the children, other colleagues, parents and the school. Treat all information with confidentiality.
Ensure the provision of equal opportunities for all. Diversity should be reflected and celebrated to reflect the school community and in line with the directive of KSA Ministry of Education.
Encourage children to take pride in their own environment and show respect and concern for others, to the benefit of the school as a caring community.
Be responsible for all aspects of classroom management eg. Care of equipment with resources well-labelled and accessible. Maintain a tidy, well organised classroom.
Create an interesting and well thought out classroom which promotes independent learning with provocations that reflect the child's interest, stage of development and ongoing inquiries.
Ensure literacy, numeracy and other developmental milestones are monitored and recorded in line with the school's numeracy and literacy program.
Collaborate with the Principal and staff team in establishing and developing effective pupil assessment procedures and portfolios. Keep appropriate records of achievement, learning journals for each child in class and provide reports as necessary.
To be aware that documentation is an important part of our program, and we celebrate this throughout the school with a focus on the process rather than the end result.
Communicate with parents regularly both formally and informally as required through communication such as, newsletters, daily application, arrival and dismissal, reports, and journals.
Build positive and effective relationships with your students' parents.
Participate in school events and team planning.
Guide, motivate and monitor support teachers in carrying out their tasks.
Support with the collaborative planning of additional workshops, holiday camps, events etc.
As Team Member to:
Collaborate with staff in short- and long-term planning meetings.
Take shared responsibility for displays and shared learning spaces throughout the school.
Take an active role in school committee groups sharing your talents/skills and encourage growth within the team
Lead on year group team meetings and collaborative planning/professional development sessions
Be open to new ideas and support the future development of the school.
Participate in appraisal procedures and in-service training that provide personal, professional and career development with yourself and your associate teachers.
Qualifications
At least 2 – 5 years relevant professional teaching experience in early childhood.
The candidate should hold a minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Education or equivalent, which is obtained from a recognised University or College involving not less than 3 years full time study.
Teachers Certificates, Diplomas or other Teacher Accreditation courses and certification are required if the applicant’s degree is not in Education.
IB PYP knowledge and/or the Reggio Emilia approach and training are highly valued.
Knowledge of or willingness to acquire knowledge of inquiry-based learning is required.
Applicants must provide original copies of their Certificates and academic transcripts for authentication.
International experience, especially in the Middle East is highly regarded.
