Job Description
The position requires the candidate to conduct music lessons to primary schoolers at EtonHouse International School. The ideal candidate would be a person who can also assume a role as a teacher.
Work collaboratively with children, teachers and the community of EtonHouse to develop a fun, educational music/movement activities and deepens the learning that is taking place through class initiated inquiries;
Create a variety of opportunities for children to express themselves and make discoveries using the children songs, lyrics and movements related to the curriculum as well as performance theme music;
Meet regularly with the class teachers and curriculum coordinator to discuss ideas and connections to the current inquiries;
Maintain a high standard of teaching practice and professionalism;
Undertake continued professional development and share the scope of Music Teacher with the school community;
Document children’s learning making connections to the curriculum. For example; portfolio entries, newsletters, community display boards;
Manage and develop primary school resources and materials for Music programme
Qualifications
Diploma in education with a major in music, or a diploma/degree in music or Diploma in Music Performance/ Speech & Drama
Fluent in spoken and written in English
Added Advantages: Ability to play at least one musical instrument and/ or basic qualifications in Education/ Primary school Teaching
